5 PET FRIENDLY HIKES IN CALIFORNIA
I love bringing my fur babies on day hikes as much as the next gal but the fact of the matter is, they aren’t welcome on every trail (unfortunately).
I wanted to share 5 of my favorite “fur baby friendly” hikes in California that vary not only in length but in landscape as well!
The fur baby friendly list (in order from shortest to longest):
1) Mobius Arch Loop Trail (Alabama Hills Recreation Area)
Length - 0.6 mile loop
Difficulty level - easy
Best time to visit - year round
Fur babies - allowed on leash and even off leash in some areas
2) Terrace Trail (the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park)
Length - 2.5 mile loop
Difficulty level - moderately challenging
Best time to visit - Year round
Fur babies - allowed on leash
3) Corlieu Falls and Red Rock Falls via Lewis Creek National Scenic Trail (Sierra National Forest)
Length - 3.8 miles out & back
Difficulty level - moderately challenging
Best time to visit - March they November
Fur babies - allowed on leash
4) Rainbow Falls via Devils Postpile Trail (Devils Postpile National Monument)
Length - 4.9 miles out & back
Difficulty level - moderately challenging
Best time to visit - June they October
Fur babies - allowed on leash
5) Nightmare Gulch Loop Trail (Red Rock Canyon State Park)
Length - 8.8 mile loop
Difficulty level - moderately challenging
Best time to visit - July thru January
Fur babies - allowed on leash and even off leash in some areas
