    * Yosemite National Park/Yosemite Bug, Peru, Bali Indonesia, Borneo Malaysia, Ecuador & Nicaragua *

I have booked several group experiences with Hilda, 1 local(Yosemite) and 4 international trips (Peru, Bali, Borneo & Ecuador).

The amount of effort, heart and soul she puts in these trips is like no one I’ve ever met. The love and passion she has for traveling is what makes booking with her so special. She wants to make every experience unforgettable while making everything as smooth as possible. Every trip we have gone on whether it be local weekend trip or international adventure, I find myself thinking “there is no way I could have ever done all this to make things flow as well as they do.” She is my forever traveling partner and travel planner. 💚

    * SUP Forest Bathing Day Retreat in California *

My boyfriend and I had the opportunity to experience forest bathing with Hilda. This experience was like non other. First off, I had never heard of forest bathing but been wanting to have nice little outdoors adventure that didn’t consist of our normal hikes. Forest bathing was so relaxing and grounding. After connecting with nature (with live flute music) we had a fun filled day at the lake with kayaks and paddle boards all provided by Hilda. It was a lovely experience to be able to enjoy nature with a group of people who love nature just as much as we do. Thank you so much for helping us make some incredible memories. I look forward to adventuring all over again on one of your amazing trips. 10/10!

    * The Dominican Republic, French Polynesia & Uganda *

Let me just start by saying that if I did not honestly believe that things happen for a reason and in their right time, I would be so upset that I did not find Hilda and her Group Experiences earlier! My time in the Dominican Republic was AMAZING! I had already been planning a few trips with Hilda, stalking her Instagram page, and blowing up her DMs for a few months when suddenly the opportunity to join in on the Dominican Republic trip presented itself. And by 'suddenly' I mean about 36 hours between making the decision to go and being at the airport boarding pass in hand!

Hilda is amazing at making you feel like you are on your own adventure with the security of being part of a group. Is not exaggerating when she talks about coming on these trips as strangers and leaving as friends. My fellow jungle-seekers were strangers to me before I arrived at the airport but that feeling had dissipated by the time I laid my head on my pillow our first night in the jungle. I had only about a day to pack for this trip and Hilda was instrumental in my success in the jungle because somehow things like earplugs, to turn down the volume on the jungle at night, and shoes that were water and hike friendly were not on my list prior to our 'Tips for the Dominican' Zoom call. Which brings me to another thing worth mentioning, traveling with someone who puts their health and safety above appearances and convenience makes traveling amidst a pandemic much easier. Let's face it its easier to keep your health guard up when the people in your group are also doing the same.

I can not wait to go on more group trips planned by Hilda because I know that I would trust her to plan a trip anywhere.  Thanks Hilda!!!

    * Yosemite National Park Forest Bathing Day Retreat *

We took a Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing) session with Hilda and let me tell you that it was exactly what we needed.

Hilda is very knowledgeable in Shinrin Yoku and really took the time to explain the history and encouraged us to be present in the body, and our relationship between ourselves and the rest of the natural world.

I work in a very high paced stressful job and Hilda’s nature therapy session really helped. After our session, I came home so energized and feeling a lot less stressed. Truly recommend it.

    * Bali indonesia, Monterey California & The Dominican Republic *

I have had the pleasure of taking two trips with Hilda, one to Bali and one to the Dominican Republic and both trips were amazing. Hilda plans trips that are exciting and fun whether your a new or an experienced traveler. One of my favorite trips in all of my life has been to the Dominican Republic with her. In this trip, we lived in treehouses (literally), rode horses through the jungle, hiked to an amazing waterfall, rode quads on an empty and gorgeous beach, took a boat ride to a private island, and zip lined through a jungle just to name a few of the activities. She's an excellent travel planner, organizer, and wonderful person to be around. She does a great job at creating a welcoming environment for everyone on the group trip and on both of my experiences, I left each trip with new friendships that I still have today. I can't say enough amazing things about my experiences in these two trips and I'm excited for my next trip with her to Madagascar!

I am an experienced traveler who loves to take adventurous vacation where I get to really explore the place I visit and these two trips with Hilda have exceeded my expectations of group trips. I highly recommend her travel services and if I could give her more than five stars, I would.

    * Yosemite National Park/Yosemite Bug Day Retreat *

I attended a Your True Nature Yosemite Day Retreat and it was magical! We started the day hiking through Yosemite Valley on snowy trails that took us to waterfalls and iconic landmarks, then we stopped at Yosemite Bug Health Spa for a private Yoga session. Hilda guided us through the poses and meditation, and although I am a very novice yogi and the yoga (or “snowga” as I like to call it since we were there for the last of the spring snow) was cleansing, fun, and not at all intimidating. We completed the session with some deep breathing in a cedar hot rocks sauna and a soak in a giant stainless steel hot tub. We then dined at the June Bug café, and I had one of the best vegan dinners I have ever had. It was like a week’s vacation in a single day! I came home a new woman, feeling centered and connected.

NOTE - I no longer teach yoga on my experiences but I DO sometimes offer therapeutic deep stretching and breath work sessions; which offer all of the benefits you would expect from a yoga class.

    * The Dominican Republic/Mexico City (twice), Yosemite National Park/Yosemite Bug & Ecuador *

I am brand new to international travel and the very thought of it makes me feel anxious.

Hilda completely eased that anxiety with her attention to detail and was there every step of the way with me from booking my plane ticket, helping me navigate the airport and what to expect when going through customs.

Speaking of paying attention to detail, while we were in the Dominican Republic she had remembered my birthday and had a special cake delivered to me deep into the jungle which meant so much to me.

If you too are new to travel have been hesitant, I highly recommend Hilda as she will make you feel safe, seen and supported throughout the whole process.

    Thank you Hilda

    * Travel Planning Services (Honeymoon to Italy) *

“Working with Hilda was so easy! She helped us plan and book every aspect of our honeymoon. She communicated with us via text, FaceTime, and zoom and always answered our many questions. She took care of all the research around where to stay and even held our hand when we went to buy our flights! She was easy to work with, patient, and listened to what we wanted. We were even under budget! We are grateful to have worked with Hilda on our honeymoon and look forward to traveling with her in the future!”

    * Baii, Costa Rica, Mexico X’s 2, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Monterey California *

Hilda's group trips are a nice way to step into a pre-defined trip. She includes some expeditions at the destination as well as free days for whatever the traveler is up to (rest or further adventures). For those of you with dietary restrictions, Hilda is very on point for looking after that with the destination (which usually include meals for the duration). You're certainly welcome to strike out on your own for this, but you can rest assured that the local kitchen has your needs in mind. As a seasoned traveler, it's reassuring to know that when you're on your way to a place that may be out of your normal comfort level, that she knows what she's doing.

*Nature Therapy Day Retreat in CA*

Hilda’s half day wellness retreat was much needed time in nature. She was welcoming and fostered a relaxing environment to help me unwind. We had an essential oils session where we created our own blend. There was also a guided stretching session and a nature walk. Not to mention a delicious homemade snack, roasted chick peas! I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone, can't wait to do it again!

FAQs

Are all of your trips in california?

All of my FREE day hikes are in California but into the Wild Experiences specializes in trips throughout all of North America (Canada, U.S.A. & Mexico). Get on the mailing list to be notified as soon as new opportunities launch. For more international group adventure opportunities, please check out my sister site World Worth Wandering.

do you attend every trip?

In 2024/2025, I will be attending every group experience. However, moving forward beyond 2025, my plan is to train up and empower past retreat guests to host their favorite ITWE experiences as an “Into the Wild ambassadors”. Yes, you understood that correctly; 2026 will be FULL of opportunities for FREE travel for past Into the Wild guests!

are children allowed on your experiences?

Typically no. However, I will make exceptions for extraordinary children, if they are able to safely participate in all of the outlined activities.

Do I HAVE to apply for these trips?

Yes, every single person is required to fill out the simple application form found —-> HERE. These are very small group experiences (on purpose), so I want to make sure the group of people is compatible. Trust me, it’s the right thing to do.

how can i get more information on a trip that is featured on the “EXPERIENCES” page?

Just click on the trip that interests you and you will be directed to that trips details. If you have further questions, feel free to send me an email —-> HERE

Do you ACCEPT insurance for your pet services ?

At this time, I do not accept insurance for any of my pet services - nutrition coaching, massage or acupressure.

are men allowed on your experiences?

Absolutely! There are a few things to consider if you are coming as a solo male though. About 75% of my guests are women, so it can sometimes be hard for me to find a roomie for you. In the case that we are unable to pair you with a suitable roommate, you would have to opt for a single occupancy room (when available), which comes with an upgrade fee.

what if i signed up but now i can’t go?

Travel insurances is REQUIRED for ALL Into the Wild experiences, for this very reason. All Into the Wild Experiences are non-refundable & non-transferable. Travel insurance protects your investment, in the event that you are unable to attend a trip you have signed up for. These insurance policies are an inexpensive way to give you peace of mind and protect your investment. I recommend this website —-> HERE for all of your travel insurance needs.

Are payment plans available?

ABSOLUTELY! There are many options when it comes to financing an experience. Of course, you are always welcome to pay for your experience in full. If that is not an option for you, each trip has a payment plan available, after the initial deposit has been made.

Can I bring my dog or cat?

ABSOLUTELY! Keep in mind that your dog/cat will need to be well socialized and able to get along well with humans and other animals. In all cases that require a flight, your animal will need to be up to date on vaccines, need a health certificate signed off by a certified USDA veterinarian AND be able to either fit in a TSA approved pet carrier onboard the cabin or they will have to travel as cargo (I do not recommend this). Fees related to these requirements are at your own additional expense. For out of country trips (Mexico & Canada) there may be additional requirements. In some rare cases, there may be a tour in which animals are not allowed, so you will have to stay behind during that experience but don’t worry, I will be right there with you! I always bring my fur babies too, so we will find something pet friendly to do together while the rest of the group does their thing! I usually send the “pet-less” group members off with a reputable local guide in those rare situations. :)
