3 INGREDIENT, ANTI-CANCER DOG TREAT RECIPE

I’m soooo happy you’re here. This means you love your fur babies!

I created this simple, cancer fighting treat recipe to try to help us all add years to our fur babies lives. I hope your fur babies love these as much as Teddy (my Frenchie) did!

I will post the recipe first, then break down the nutritional benefits of each ingredient below.

INGREDIENTS:

🍌 2 packets of plain, unflavored beef gelatin

🍌 3 scoops of Native Pets beef bone broth (do NOT use human broth)

🍌 1 GREEN banana (basically just an unripe)

🍌 2 cups of clean, untreated water (does this count as a 4th ingredient?)

DIRECTIONS:

* Boil 1 cup of water and add gelatin, mixing until dissolved. Remove from heat once mixed well.

* Whisk 3 scoops of Native Pet beef bone broth with 1 cup of water

* Dice one green banana and set peel aside. You can use this another way too! I’ll share here later.

* Add gelatin water to bone broth and whisk well.

* Place treat molds on a baking sheet (to catch spills and for easy transport to the fridge.

* Fill each mold about 3/4 full, then top off with diced banana pieces.

* Place in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours to firm.

VIOALA! You have nutrient packed, anti cancer food toppers or treats for your fur babies!

NOTES:

- These treats can be given to cats as well, just remember that cats are obligate carnivores (meat eaters) so use sparingly.

- Freeze what you don’t use.

ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS:

The star of the show here is actually the green banana! A study led by experts at the Universities of Newcastle and Leeds showed that the resistant starch found in green bananas can reduce the incidence of cancer by over 60%!!! Even heredity cancers were reduced by more than 50% over the course of the 20 year study.

Now let’s talk about beef gelatin! The main ingredient in gelatin is collagen. Beef gelatin is high in proline and glycine, which has been shown to improve skin elasticity and hydration. It also soothes upset stomachs, and helps with other digestive ailments; it does so by enhancing gastric acid secretion and working to restore the mucosal lining in the stomach. There are other gelatin options available but I did not use or research them for this recipe.

Next up, bone broth. I used beef bone broth in this recipe to keep it single ingredient based but if your dog/cat is sensitive or allergic to beef, feel free to use chicken or turkey instead; as well as a different, non beef based, pet safe gelatin alternative. Also, please do NOT use bone broth that is intended for human consumption, it likely contains ingredients that are known to be TOXIC or dangerous to dog (& cats). Gosh where do I even start with the benefits of bone broth for our fur family members. I will just list them to make it easier. It boosts hydration, fights inflammation, acts a liver detoxifier, boosts the immune system, supports joint health,

Last but certainly not least, water. It is the fountain of life. We literally can not live without water and neither can our pups and cats; so not much needs to be said here. ;)
